Karen Bennicke – Sparcial Destabilization is the story of Karen Bennicke, one of the most experimental and radical artists of Danish ceramic craftsmanship. Since the 1980s, Bennicke has been at the centre of the Danish avant-garde ceramic elite and the craft’s on-going development.
The authors Lars Dybdahl, Anne-Louise Sommer, Alison Britton and Lisbeth Bonde mix works, sources of inspiration and formal themes in a non-chronological review in which text and images offer an insight into the artist’s work, placing it in a contemporary context.
Bennicke’s work is internationally acknowledged for its vast production of unique pieces of ceramics. This book is the first monograph of its kind, describing Bennicke’s works collectively. It is richly illustrated to enhance the story of Bennicke’s beautiful and colourful sculptures.
