Hammershøi in the David Collection

Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916) was one of Denmark’s most important artists, and his international reputation has secured his work a place in exhibitions the world over. The David Collection has some of Hammershøi’s finest paintings, including his masterpiece ‘Open Doors. Strandgade 30’ (on the cover), which has attained iconic status.
