Sophie Dupont – Breathe (UK)

In Sophie Dupont’s art, the invisible becomes palpable. Using breath as both material and method, she explores what it means to be present in the world. Her practice moves between performance, painting, sculpture, photography and installation, taking the body as its point of departure: as both sensing and acting, as a measure of time, a site of experience and a basis for relationships.

Through repetition, rhythm and slowness, she renders breath, rest, presence and relationships tangible. Her works open up spaces in which the individual becomes collective, and in which small, precise actions emerge as forms of care, attentiveness and quiet resistance in an accelerated age.

Featuring texts by seven writers and a rich body of illustrations, the book reveals Sophie Dupont’s artistic practice from multiple perspectives.
